HOW THE SITE WORKS & RULES

Pyramid Rules

Challenging: You can challenge only the 5 active players immediately above you in the Munich ladder. Frozen players are skipped when counting the 5. You may have only one active challenge at a time (pending or accepted) — finish it before challenging someone else. The challenger may cancel their own challenge (pending or accepted, before a result is recorded) to free the slot for a new challenge.

Winning: If you were below your opponent, you take your opponent’s rank and all players with ranks ≥ that rank (except you) move down by 1. If you were already ahead, ranks do not change.

Losing: If you lose and the winner takes your rank, you move down by 1; otherwise your rank stays the same.

New players: New players are added to the bottom of the Munich ladder (rank = max + 1).

Leaving the ladder: When a player leaves or is deleted, everyone behind them moves up by 1. Any pending challenges involving that player are cancelled.

League Structure

Current setup: All players are part of one Munich ranking.

Region selection: Region changes are currently disabled for normal players.

Future scaling: If the player base grows, separate ladders may be introduced later.

Challenge Declining

Limit: You may decline at most 3 challenges within any 30‑day period. Further declines will be blocked until the limit window resets.

Privacy: Contact information is only shared after a challenge is accepted.

Fair play: Only decline for legitimate reasons (injury, travel, etc.). Consider using account freeze if you will be unavailable.

Time Limits

Challenge response: 3 days to accept/decline. If there is no response, the challenger wins by walkover and takes the opponent's rank.

Match organization: After acceptance, arrange the match together (usually once a court is booked). The 7-day guideline is a target, not a fixed calendar date — coordinate via Contact/WhatsApp and play when both are available.

Result recording: The challenger should record the result promptly after the match.

Email Notifications

Challenge issued: When you challenge someone, the challenged player receives an email and can accept/decline.

Challenge accepted: Both players receive a confirmation email to arrange the match.

Challenge declined: The challenger is notified by email.

Match result: After the challenger records the score, both players receive the result by email.

Welcome email: Upon completing your profile, you receive a welcome/confirmation email.

Admin broadcast: Admin may send informational emails to players (announcements, maintenance, etc.).

Important Notes

Fair play: This is a friendly competition. Be respectful to all players

Communication: Use WhatsApp or other messaging apps to organize matches

Court booking: The challenger is responsible for finding and booking the court

Costs: Court costs are typically split 50/50 unless agreed otherwise

Sportsmanship: Shake hands before and after matches

Ladder scope: All challenge and rank logic currently applies to the Munich ladder.

Frozen accounts: Frozen accounts cannot perform any activity or receive challenges and are skipped when counting the top‑5 ahead.
